Title: My Ross Squeezer- pic
Post by: jimbob on August 27, 2006, 10:51:24 PM
This is a pic of my board with a Ross compressor and an Orange Squeezer. Its wired up between 2 3pdt switches so I can choose between one or the other or both. So far it sounds great but there is still room for a little tweeking. There is also 2 different colored leds in order to tell when its on ect..

i have those two, ready to box, and i wanted to do the "twin comp classic" (i think Analog Man does that too) but i'm not shur how i'll use the comps yet... so i might whant to try one before the wha and tho other after the dist... not shure yet...  :icon_confused:

so i was thinkig about building both in the same box but putting a send/return loop between both comp, so i would be able to put what i want in between...

Mike, 1 trimmer for the OS and 2 for the Ross I guess?

So...can you bypass the whole thing or not?  I'm trying to get a feel for useful switching options and if you have bypass in there, that sounds really cool.  I haven't figured out how to do A-or-B-or-Both+Bypass switching with two 3PDTs' yet...

I tried starting a 'one stop shopping' switching thread (here: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=48741.0) but so far it's lacking.  If you've got bypass, I'd love to see it!

Yes, OS BIAS and ROSS BIAS, and a ROSS ATTACK trimpot.

But like RG said yesterday, the ross bias is really not needed... we made the new boards with optional holes for fixed resistors but still using the bias trimpot.

Yup. The whole thing can be (true) bypassed-thats when both lights are off. I played with it a little more today and REALLY like both on at the same time as well as separately. BTW- Most the electro's on the pic were from the time Analogmike was giving them away and the sunface boards.

Hopefully sometime I can grap the extra cash and buy a real one like the pic above from the Analogman. Thats probably where I got the idea from anyway. Until then, this one is fun.

Cool.
Got a link/layout for the switching wiring?

And a big thanks goes out to GGG for the wiring diagram and Tonepad for the circuits.

Thanks for the switching link - I'm an idiot!
For some reason, I thought you had an A/B switch and a Both switch AND Bypass...using two 3PDT's.

Geez...I need more coffee!
