Title: Tychobrahe Octavia Mod help
Post by: Blenji on October 19, 2006, 08:03:13 PM
Hey,

Id like to build the 'Tychobrahe Octavia' found at http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=88 (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=88).  But i would like to mod it so that it has 2 switches, one for the distortion on/off and one for the octave on/off.

Can anyone help me work out how to go about doing this?

Thanks.

Bypass the transformer and diodes after C6, before R13 using DPDT in a true bypass type wiring w/jumper for bypass.
or...I'm Not sure what that coil would do [between C6 and ground], but you can test what using an SPST to jumper C6 to R13 sounds like by clipping a jumper between C6>---<R13.

to switch the octave on/off you can just use a SPDT between D2's anode and the bottom leg of the transformer's primary.

D2s anode?  Which is the bottom leg of the primary?  Will i have to mod the PCB at all?

Im new to all this sorry.
