Post by: jlullo on November 10, 2006, 04:02:02 PM
hey everyone, i'm finally wiring up my first pedal.  i'm sorry for such a remedial question, but when wiring up the jacks, what is the shield and what is the tip?  i'm not really what i should be doing.

If you plug in a cable, the tip is that part on the end, the sleeve is the other part (not sheild, thats in the actual cable)
the ring is section in between on stereo connectors

so if all the contacts were on the bottom, would it go tip, ring, sleeve?  and when i'm grounding to a point on the jack, i'm soldering all of the grounds to the same point?
