Title: Slack trem pcb layout (unverified)
Post by: searoad on December 06, 2006, 12:41:35 AM
Hi everyone!
here is another tremolo layout today, Slack trem.
back to the monthly submission of august, slacker contributed this soft-clipping based tremolo.
http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=48815.msg362756#msg362756 (3 nice sound clips by slacker too)
i built tremulus lune before and love it very much.
im impressed by this one-knob tremolo, so wild speed range!
i drew the pcb layout by Diy layout creator. checked but not yet verified.
this is my first time to draw the layout, so it might be wrong somewhere or not a good pcb layout design.
anyway here is clear trace (http://homepage.ntu.edu.tw/~r95625018/trace.gif), pnp (http://homepage.ntu.edu.tw/~r95625018/PnP.gif), scheme (http://www.eskimo.plus.com/fxstuff/slacktrem.png) by slacker.

i think this tiny circuit may have much potential to do more job.
can it include the Depth control? a blink led?
there is an opamp stage left unused, say pin5&6 of 4069, can be added some control?
or can it add aux Lfo (http://commonsound.org/tremulus/auxlfo_modulate.pdf) like tremulus lune?
maybe i need some lessons of soft-clipping. :-X

Thanks again for doing these layouts. Hopefully someone can verify them.
If I get time I'll have another play with the circuit over the Christmas holidays. I didn't spend much time on it originally because I threw it together at the last minute in time for the first FX-X. I think with some work it could be improved, especially as the original LFO is quite noisy.
I think it should be possible to add a depth control and you could add a blinking  LED by using the spare invertor as a buffer.
