I have been toying with the idea of DIY synth stuff lately (using your guitar). I recently came across a web site that had a some DIY modular circuits that were mostly IC based (big ol chips!). I don't remember the site but they had a (if I remember correctly) signal generator of sorts (that your guitar fed the input trigger) and it may have been a distortion circuit (ugh?). I thought it was the "Experimentalist Anonymous" (because I remembered the site being a dark green or dark grey) but I can't find it on that site.
I know I'm throwing my coins to the wind on this but does that ring a bell for anyone out here in DIY land? :icon_rolleyes:

Or one of them may be able to point you in the right direction.
BTW: The Plexi's use EL34's and have a different sound over the 18 watt Marshalls. The 18 watt Marshalls are more like Marshall meets Vox with EL84's.

I'm sorry guys. The site (to my knowledge) was not a synth site it was a guitar effects site.
If ya find it' let me know, sounds cool as hell. Can't say I've ever seen a diy pedals site with modular synth stuff...

Yea, www.18watt.com and www.ceriatone.com for parts/kits. On Ceriatone, make sure you order the circuit board and everything seperate because I know you will want to build it from scratch. Have fun with it, you wont be able to stop building until your exhausted or finished! Then you will want to do another, so be careful, its addicting! :D

No it was not modular synth stuff (some could be used for) it was just a bunch of IC circuits (lots of big ol IC's used) for pedal use. They seemed modular but that was about it. :icon_wink:
