Title: Smashed Pickle (layout, clip)
Post by: tommy.genes on April 16, 2007, 10:07:29 AM
Nothing new here, really, just aron's Smash Drive with a Swollen Pickle (aka modded BMP) tone control, built for a friend's 40th birthday. I wanted to contribute, in a small way, to the ever-growing soundclip and layout database.

ORIGINAL SCHEM (http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/schems/smashdrive.gif)
LAYOUT (http://tommy.genes.home.comcast.net/SmashedPickle.gif)
SOUNDCLIP (http://tommy.genes.home.comcast.net/SmashedPickle.mp3)

Strat w/ bridge humbucker --> pedal --> mixer --> computer, with slight reverb added in software. Probably would sound even better into a good amp.

The pedal has no gain control, it is preset at max gain (although you could use the guitar's volume knob).

I had taken pictures, but couldn't find the cable to download them from the camera. Nothing fancy, just an unfinished RACO box. I wasn't even planning to post a gut shot - too embarrassing. This was conceived on a Monday, in an already busy week, for presentation on Saturday, so I had to use what I had, and there was no time for things like planning and workmanship.

I love LM386-based distortions! Great job!
