Title: Drill Templates
Post by: BillyB on August 13, 2007, 09:19:37 AM
I just got a drill press yesterday and I am looking for some templates for drilling.

Yes I have seen the one on Geofex for the 1590BB size.  Its great and I am definately going to use it, but I need smaller ones for 125 sizes, etc...

Anyone have any other sizes?  I have used the search function and all I see is recommendations for the Geofex one.

Thanks,
Billy

Here is one for the Smallbear 125B "Wild Mouse" size box. (http://www3.telus.net/public/david65/pedal-pics/125B-TwoPots.pdf)

Here is another for the 1590B. (http://www3.telus.net/public/david65/pedal-pics/1590B-With-2-Pot.pdf)

Not sure how much good it will do you if you can't edit it. At least they are to scale.

You can also go to the  Hammond web site (http://www.hammondmfg.com/dwg.htm) and download the pdf for each box to get the exact dimensions.

With that and some ingenuity you can make your own templates.

Good luck.

I got some quad-ruled paper recently and started using that. I traced the dimension of the box on the paper and then laid it out using the "Rule of Fours" for symmetry. I then copied the design onto a quad-ruled piece of index card, taped it to the box and drilled.
When making templates, I always try to follow the Rule of Fours; it really makes things easier.
