Title: LPB Boost mid boost mod?
Post by: diechris on November 29, 2007, 12:27:49 AM
I tried searching.. but all i could find was ways to up the mids by cutting highs and lows..

I'm looking if there's a way to mod a LPB to be a mid boost pedal without cutting lows. I play bass and would like to set up a boost pedal to overdrive some tubes.. but i'd lilke to boost the mids like how tubescreamers do. The only reason I'm asking about modding a LPB is because i already have the parts. Any help would be great.

Put in some sockets for the capacitors and the transistor.
Then you can swap different caps and transistors in and out untill you find your own golden ratio.

BTW; check out the Mole Bass Boost:

For an indepth article about the LPB see this:

Look in the schematics section
again been there for years

Work out the math.

You can drop in all kinds of Si transistor numbers and it should bias without changing anything.
