Title: Runoffgroove Eighteen technical question
Post by: Axe_34 on November 26, 2008, 09:55:06 AM
Hi everyone.

I've just started to populate a perfboard using the info at http://www.runoffgroove.com/eighteen.html.

However, I'm confused about one thing -- the parts list and PCB layout both list a 100uf cap in the circuit at C11. (http://www.runoffgroove.com/18-pcb.pdf)

However, I don't see it on either the schematic or the perfboard layout diagram. To make things a little more confusing, I think I see it in the actual photo of the assembled board between the first and second trim pots.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Correct, the 100uF cap is missing from the schematic and perf layout.  Gary added one in for his perf build, but I must have missed it while making the layout.

Thanks for the quick reply. (And to my e-mail too!  :) )

Can someone double-check this for me? I think this is where the cap would go -- from the pin on the third trim pot to ground.

Hmmm. Now that I look at it again, I think it's supposed to come of the pin on the furthest left trim pot.

It doesn't matter where you physically place it on the board, as long as the positive lead connects to the positive power rail and the negative lead to ground.

Rock on. Thanks very much.  :)
