Title: Modifying an existing pedal by adding a 2 way switch onto a 3pdt...
Post by: jjbass on July 31, 2009, 12:58:18 PM
So the pedal is an EH Stereo Memory Man W/ Hazerai... The function I'm trying to change is the looping feature. Currently to record a loop you have to hold down on the switch during the whole duration of a loop. My goal is to make it work like a normal loop pedal and only have to hit the switch once to start the loop and another time to start the repeat. I've been told that I can do this by installing a simple on/off type switch and wire it to two of the lugs on the 3pdt footswitch... But the person didn't know which lugs and I don't understand how the switch works and have been unable to find information.

the loop/tap tempo footswitch its an SPDT momentary with only 2 of the lugs connected.  Simply connect your switch to those two lugs.

keep in mind the stock switch won't operate unless your additional switch is 'off'.  be careful! if you switch modes with the switch accidentally on it'll start recording a loop on you and your tap tempo won't work.  would not be fun in a live situation!

You could use less switch, a SPST would do the 'work part'.
With either of the 'more switch than you need' [3pdt or dpdt] use one of the other pole/throw 'columns' to de/activate an LED indicator with current limiting resistor for the new' function.
