I like my easy vibe very much, but there is a problem.... when on bypass, I have very anoying ticking noise coming from my Easy vibe. Is there a solution to this problem?
Hi! Welcome to the forum!
Can I suggest that you use the Search (http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?action=search) function up the top of evey page - there's wealth of info on the site on exactly this problem - most people seem to get their Easyvibe ticking cured, so hopefully you can too :-) Let us know how it goes!
All the best
Aidan
That probably comes from the LFO and I assume that you use a PS chain that distributes the ticking to the other effects trough the DC chain.
I had the same problem with my first build of the Easy vibe where I used a 2x4 op-amp when I. built a new one with a 4x2 Op-am instead and added a 100uF cap across the power real and a 100R in series with the +9v the ticking was gone.
I've used search function, but find none ticking problems, only problems with led-s and optocouplers, nothing like this :icon_neutral:......
I have the one with 4 dual op-amps and it worket from the first time i powered it up....
It is very nice, but the ticking problem is disturbing....
I power it up via daisy chain, so it has common ground wit my dirt boxes.
I wil try solderman's suggestion!
Thanx guys!
Is that the Geofex layout?. Try creating another Vref for the LFO.
Remove J1. Lift off one leg of R2(the one in junction with R3) and R15(the leg in junction with J1,R2,R3, etc). Short these legs altogether and connect them to the now empty (bottom) pad of J1.
For the new Vref, wire the second illustration below. (I'm not sure if the first illustration will work..sorry :icon_biggrin:)

Connect Vref2 to the other empty pad of J1 near pin 1 of U1.
+1 to the 100R in series with + in, and I used 1000uF from + to gnd as well. Zero ticking...BUT, it was the 2nd build for the EV - I placed the oscillator on a separate board away from the signal path ;o)
