Title: MC4558CN in a TS?
Post by: zombiwoof on April 11, 2010, 07:15:17 PM
I ran across this version of the 4558 when I was looking at some components.  I know that subbing different 4558's or 4559's in a Tube Screamer or similar pedals can have subtle tonal results, and wondered if anyone had ever tried this one (which I don't recall anyone mentioning), made by ST Micro?.  How does it sound?  I can just buy some and try them when I socket my pedal, but though I'd ask.

Thanks,
Al

I know that some say the JRC version sounds different than the Texas Instruments 4558, so I wondered how this one compares to those two.  I know it's a subtle thing, I guess I should just order some and see for myself.

Thanks,
Al
