Title: Delay using PT2399
Post by: samrsmiley on July 05, 2010, 02:51:32 PM
I have an extra PT2399 chip, and instead of throwing it out why not try to make a delay?  Anyone have a good schematic or design for one?  I've made 5 pedals in the past, so not total beginner but no means expert.  Thanks for any help.

Tonepad.com has the most popular and simple PT2399 delay, the Rebote (it's basically the app note with tweaks, all you need is the PT2399 and a dual op amp). There's also the PT-80 from GGG (needs a compander chip to build, tries to get a more analog delay sound I think, i've never heard it before).

If you want more features the Echo Base here on these forums has modulation and tails (on bypass the repeats continue) as a bonus. It needs a 4066 analog switch chip to build.

the ggg pt-80 is really good and a easy build IMO. It seems like it adds a little modulation to the delayed sound the longer it repeats and makes it sound a bit more analog.  It seems like a lot to do when you look at the layout but its a lot of the same parts repeated
