Hello,
I have a can capacitor marked saying that it is a "can positive."
Does this mean what it sounds like, that the can is the (+) positive side of the capacitor and not the normal (-) side? And when restuffing it, would that mean I need to run the (+) end of the new capacitor to the metal body?
It is a 2000uf 35v if that matters any.
Thanks,

Yeah the metal body is connected to the positive lead. This was maybe done for split supplies - since for the negative supply, the filtering cap positive lead will be connected to ground.
Restuffing it? What do you mean?
This does have a split (-) and (+) power supply. I took out the guts and replaced the caps with new ones so I can reuse the twist type mounting bracket that the can cap is. I just wanted to make sure that I was reading it correctly and the (+) side of the cap went to the metal body, which in turn is grounded to the chassis.
Thank you for the reply,
