Hey, can anyone give me some clues as to what is going on here?

How is the tap tempo achieved here?  What about the modulation effect? 
Sounds pretty sweet.  Looks like a PT2399 maybe a Rebote circuit?
What do you guys think?  I LIKE. WANT TO BUILD!  Have no clue how to program a microcontroller :(

Search this forum for "Taptation". It will do tap tempo for PT2399, with modulation. Not in stock, but hopefully Aron will have them again soon.
