Title: Boss ds1 issue after mod
Post by: teo.gp on March 18, 2011, 07:06:32 AM
Hello everybody, my first post here! I recently modded a Boss DS1 (I have modded a lot in the past). At first it worked fine, but for no reason it dropped the output volume at about 1/10, both bypassed or on. The sound is there and the pedal is working fine, but with really low output. I swapped the components with the originals, I tried other cables (you never know) but with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

is it something as simple as a loose / poor output or input jack connection?

Nope, I checked everything... It must be a faulty component or something...

unless you've lifted a trace on the pcb slightly. I've heard that the newer MIT boss pcbs aren't the best quality....

Check the white wire on the output jack.  Every time I have the same issue with a Boss mod--that white cable is brittle and gets loose.
