Title: 2-Pole, 6-Position Rotary Switch "Layout" (Warning Radioshack content)
Post by: CodeMonk on May 14, 2011, 01:49:15 AM
So I was in need of a better way to hook up one of those 2-Pole, 6-Position Rotary Switches I got from Radioshack.

I know most people here avoid Radioshack like the plague. I usually do to, but, well, I thought these looked useful and only cost about $3.
So I made a layout for them.
Pictures below:

The switch:

Layout. Just remove the red and blue lines and the text.
The red and blue lines represent wires that would go to the main PCB.

And with parts:

Its also a good idea to put some kind of insulating material between the PCB and the switch to avoid any potential shorts.
I used some thin plexiglass.
Hope this will be of some use to someone here.
