Title: ticking in metal zone - eq related
Post by: Seven64 on August 10, 2011, 02:26:38 AM
so i noticed a ticking sound in my metal zone.  it varies depeding on various eq knobs, but once you find the knob you can adjust it like a metronome until it either goes away or is ticking at like 250+bpm.  i dont understand it, but i want it gone.  do i just mess with my eq until its gone.  it really limites the available range of whatever eq knob its affecting at the time, so i am kinda worried i won't find a sound i like.

Maybe power supply issue? How are you powering it? If it thumps with a battery then just ignore me but try a different adaptor.

using a stock power supply.  the battery screw is all boogered up so i can't untwist it to change the battery.

You could make a battery-to-DC plug adapter and try a battery that way. I always have several of these adapters in my FX toolbox for those stompboxes too small to accomodate a battery internally, just in case.
