Title: PCB companies that accept PDF files?
Post by: therecordingart on December 01, 2011, 10:21:17 AM
A long shot, but do you guys know of any PCB manufacturers that will work from a PDF?

About a year ago I commissioned someone to create a PCB layout from one of my schems, but a hard drive failure wiped my Eagle files (I'm now insane about backing up). Time Machine backups to a Synology DS211J with two 3TB mirrored drives, but I digress. I have the PDF files that I used for prototyping still in my Dropbox account.

Help?

Google "pdf to gerber".  It looks like there are some options that will get you Gerbers from your PDFs. This will then allow you to use any board house you want.

Expresspcb might be able to work with pdf's, but if nothing else, they provide free schematic capture and layout software and are very reasonable with quick turn around.  regards.
