Hello,
I built a buzz box recently from this schematic: http://www.home-wrecker.com/bazz.html (http://www.home-wrecker.com/bazz.html) at the bottom of the page. Everything is working fine but there's a noticeable reduction in terms of volume. For example, when the effect is on at full volume I still have to increase the volume pot of my amplifier up to 6 in order to get a decent taste of it (amplifier is VHT 6W). Moreover, when the effect is switched off I need to put boost mode and reach full volume on the amplifier in order to hear my guitar's sound. Any suggestions on where to look for in order to fix it?
Kind Regards,
Yiannis
Hallo yoo86.
If I understand correctly your effect, even in bypass mode, lowers the output volume of the guitar.
This means that something in the switch, or on the off board wiring is wrong, at first check some off board wiring tutorial (for example at beavisaudio.com), and then verify your wiring (and look for bad solder joints or something shorting on earth a part of the signal).
The bypass volume should be equal to the guitar straight in the amp volume (by the way, I have your same amp). When bypass signal will be equal to straight in the amp signal you will be able to go forward debugging the (wonderfull) buzz box.
Good luck.
