Title: line 6 toneport enclosure disassembly trick?
Post by: joegagan on October 12, 2012, 12:18:58 PM
sorry, i know this might not be the right place but i am looking for the most eyeballs.

a customer brought in a line 6 toneport UX2
(http://www.chrisnovoa.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/line6ux2-1.jpg)

does anyone know the trick for opening it up? i have the knobs off, there are no visible screws on the bottom, the clamshell side joint doesn't have pop-able tabs that i can find using pry devices. am suspicious of the front and back 'ring' in front of the red facelplate, but can discenr noi locking rim there either.

maybe there are some tabs on the side joints that have a trick i haven't figured out?

I feel silly suggesting this to someone with your expertise, but I find there are often screw hidden under things like serial# stickers and rubber stick-on legs on the bottom.  Maybe it's something VERY normal but hidden from view?

thanks mark.
got it.

there is a three part interlock involving the red faceplate and the perimeter depth ring ( perimeter of face ) and the top and bottom. once all the nuts come off the jacks, certain washers have protruding tabs that mysteriously lock the top and bottom together.

thanks RO. my google searching did not turn that one up.
