Title: MXR Noise Gate/Line Driver
Post by: soupbone on November 12, 2012, 10:44:56 PM
I'm trying to make a friend of mine's old(block logo) MXR Noise Gate/Line Driver Pedal true bypass with 3pdt switch, led and power jack. Here's Andreas(stinkfoot) page on how to make older mxr pedals true bypass with a dpdt switch; http://stinkfoot.se/archives/537 He didn't go into using a 3pdt switch. He talks about stealing power from the board for the led.I'm just not sure where to steal the power from? Here's the schematic; http://www.freeinfosociety.com/electronics/schemview.php?id=569  Any help would be greatly appreciated! :icon_biggrin:

Collector of T1; or any "+9V" point.

Ok cool! So,I can use the 22k resistor that's connected to T1 as well?

no, the collector goes strainght to 9V.  you'll still need a current limiting resistor.  if there's a power jack it may be easier to tap the 9V from there, or at least la little less messy.
