100 years ago, 1924, a guy named Brandenberger (no relation to the guy named Ham) invented the Cellophane.  He was a horrible speller. By just one letter, the "a", he missed being the inventor of the first flip phone.

"1924 – Industrial production of Cellophane(s) starts in the US."

And that's a wrap.

I made a variable capacitor for a wah wah experiment consisiting of two rectangular flexible plates the size of a cell phone.

The plates were fixed at one end, and the distance between them was varied with the back of the rocker mechanism.
Simple and effective 1-2 nf variable capacitor for wah wah's and seismic sensors.

Doing a Google search I found a patent of this variable cap of 100 years ago or more.
