Guitars with effects built in have been done before however this one looks interesting with how the effect controls are laid out on the guitar.

I wonder if it is powered by the tip ring sleeve powering.

Cute!
I've always been a sucker for onboard effects ever since I first saw a Vox Invader.
I have the circuits for that somewhere. The Invader used a 9V battery stuffed into the body cavity.

I've been saying it since 1979: don't install/build into a guitar what you can do more easily and better with a floor pedal.  If it needs to be on the guitar in order to work as intended (e.g., sustainers), fine.  I *like* knobs and switches, but most effects can be their best version in a floor pedal.

Do people get the "Smuggler" reference?

What to do if you have 2 guitars ?

Do you know what you're doing?

And if one guitar starts affecting the other (room for a Twighlight Zone episode ... add music outtake .)

According to the water analogy of electricity, transistor leakage is caused by holes.

Mark I agree however good inexpensive guitars are available now so routing out an inexpensive tele type guitar and adding circuits might be fun to do

It might be fun to make the circuits in modules that plug in with a short cable to an inside buss

I do like the old style AM radio type controls

This is of course right - and other than inherent sloth is what has kept me from putting effects onboard.

But I still find a fascination with the things.

QuoteThat's something l like what was inside the various Vox guitars with internal effects. The modules were two roughly 1" square PCBs with resistors, caps and transistors stacked cordwood-style between the PCBs. These were then soldered into a motherboard of sorts, although it wasn't a very generalized bus design.

My argument is pedal on the floor can be used for *any* guitar.    I'm even urged to get rid of active electronics on basses.  No batteries to go flat or leak.  Always a passive option.  However, there is something about the convenience of twiddling the knobs locally.

Do like Pete Cosey supposedly did — plug in one guitar through the other! (I have no idea how he may have actually done this, so please don't listen to me.)

Oh it is definitely "ship in a bottle" how'd-they-DO-that fascination.  Trust me, I wouldn't turn down the cheapest clone of a Les Paul Recording, or Epiphone Professional, Danelectro Innuendo, or Vox Guitorgan.
