This is my recordings from too amps homemade..

One of then is based on LXH2 low watt amp with EL84 in the output.
The other was based on LM380-8 amp with op-amps pushing diodes
into distortion...
I used 1n4148 diodes (4 diodes). Two diodes for each phase of wave...

I am very sorry for my lack of skill in guitar...
try not to think of that..

observe if it is going to encourage you to try
the same as i did...

Thanks for listening.

The amps were still too loud if you do not want bother your neighbors....

Obs. the speaker was a generic 12" without any cabinet.
Fone was from my computer..

here they are:

Thank you for posting this, for some time I've been curious about that LXH2 EL84 amp.
There's a rather extreme compression on that recording, but it has a nice sound.
Most overdrive thingies make you're sound kind of fizzy, shrill, thin sounding, this one exhibits some nice deeper qualities.

Wish it was possible to wrap together a few cheep components, and have that huge deep, fantastic marshal sound.  :icon_mrgreen:

I tried to compare the LXh2 low watt with my comercial multieffect pedal...
For ethics reasons i will not comment the company, but what i could say is that
it is very famous.
The cabinet simulator gave a very good result together with distortion.
But i could not have the HEADROOM that i had with my own design.

All i could say is that i am satisfied with the aproach of using
diodes with a higher voltage to  have more headroom...
very convincing
