Figured it out, thanks.

Taylor, thank you for your response.

Hi Carl - fair warning, since somebody else will come in and say what I'm about to say in a less friendly way otherwise.

Not that I really care personally, but this kind of post drives people here crazy. You appear to have started a company selling pedals about 3 months after your first build. You've started building batches before learning how to debug and now you're hoping to get help debugging your commercial products on a DIY forum.

A couple tips to get help in the future:

-pretend you are not selling these pedals.
-don't link to your Facebook page with advertising lingo.
-read this:
http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=29816.0

Again, I'm not chastising you because I don't care. I just wanted to give you this notice, because otherwise you would likely have been wondering why nobody answers your questions, and everybody instead posts cryptic smirking replies and photographs of flowers blooming.

Tips:
- Read the debugging thread.
- Post a schematic (although it looks like a modified Tweak Fuzz).
- Post voltages.
- Socket Germanium transistors.
- If you are building effects to sell, you should know how to debug them. People here might help you, but don't rely on it, especially if people are paying you $200 for your pedals. If I pay that kind of money for a pedal, I expect that it can be reliably built and repaired by the manufacturer.

Hola CM
Thanks for the heads-up.

It is a modified Tweak, which is in and of itself a simple Fuzz circuit which we all know and love. Everything is derivative of something. No surprises there!

The debugging was done within moments of the initial post, hence me intimating the issue was probably Q2 within the post.

The post was two fold: to initiate conversation in a general sense, for I feel we can all learn from each other's mistakes and growing pains. The second point was to discuss something I figure that everyone will come across at some point.  I was also trying to instill a sense of humility in my post, as I figure we all have had or still have soldering challenges...After 17 years soldering, I still make mistakes and fry things. More so today than I had in years, though...Must be the weather.

My post was poorly worded, as it was not intended to drive traffic to my page. It's simply easier to see the circuit on my page, as I've posted pics of every step of the process. That includes several pictures of the PCB and the loaded circuit. The link has been removed. It was not my intention to rustle any feathers.

I have THOROUGHLY explored this site, including the associated wiki. There is a lot of excellent material here. I'm thankful for all the effort that is put forth to build and maintain this site.

As far as my ability to QC or problem solve/debug things...well...:) I'm going to leave that alone.

Interesting aside: I have yet to fry a Ge tranny. Knock on wood. Though I figure it'll happen in the next few moments because I just invoked Murphy.  Damn Murphy.

Have a great day.
Carl
