Smokey Amp Speaker choice

I finally built myself a smokey amp and tested it with all the random little speakers I had lying around (I guess I am still a hoarder even with my best efforts to overcome it). I was really happy with the results when compared to the time and expense. I'd like to build a bunch of them as birthday gifts seeing as everyone I know is in a band. I have a lot of parts I want to order for other projects so I'll probably have to order a bit from a few different suppliers. Does anyone have a favorite or recommended speaker for this...since I want to do a few. I see tayda is sold out of they're 1watt speakers but have a 1/2 watt speaker in stock...any comments on that?? Thanks
