Hi everyone, I'm trying to get this tremolo pedal up and running and so far no luck.

I power it up, I see a light on the led, and then it immediately fades and does not come back until I unplug the power for a number of minutes before trying again.
No sound comes out of the circuit. (only a loud pop when I connect the battery terminals)

I'm following the schematic from this site:
http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.ca/2012/02/ea-tremolo-modified-rog.html

I am fairly certain I have the pots and inputs/outputs wired correctly. I've looked it over about 20 times!

The transistors I am using are labeled as follows:
Q1 = BS170A, PH69
Q2 = K117, GR2B
Q3 = ST2N, 5088, S6 C

I currently have my transistors set up in the configuration listed in the vero board layout linked above, from what I can gather from datasheets that I can find, I believe these are oriented correctly, but for all I know I have them wrong.

Here are some images of my circuit board

The schematic says to look for 4.5 - 5 v at Q1 drain, I get between 8.75v and 8.79v depending on my adjustment of the trim pot.

My battery reads 8.8v

With all pots at half value here are all the Transistor voltages I get:

Q1
D: 8.79
G: 3.67
S: 0

Q2
D: 0
G: 0
S: 0

Q3
C: 7.25
B: 6.46
E: 0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Josh

Q1 source is not really connected to its resistors.

Q3 is so wrong I can't guess, though incorrect pinout is possible.

000 on Q2 is, for once, normal.
