Hello all  ;D

I'm about to embark on making a USB midi pedal board to control POD Farm on my PC.

I will be taking apart an old joypad and using a couple of software utilities to convert to MIDI.

What I'm looking for is an enclosure that is low , flat and wide to mount maybe half a dozen momentary switches on.  Maybe even something with a sloping front ?

Doesn't have to be new - any ideas on something I could hack/repurpose gratefully received.

So far my best idea is to rip the guts out of an old PC keyboard and mount the switches on the back.

Any more ??

I'm thinking of using type PC25 as a multi stomp box: dimensions are 298 x 152 x 51 (mm) and its 1.5mm thick which should make it strong enough?

Not bad for £10, I guess its roughly the length of A4 paper if thats an indicator
Piss poor playing is why i make pedals.

Thanks for that gcme (add your name to your profile, dude  :) )
I'm near Maplins tomorrow, so I'll have a scout around.

See "Steel Studs", http://www.geofex.com.

There are steel framing members that are "C" shaped and the size of common wood framing parts. They come in 3m lengths and longer. Generally you can be polite and interested at the places that sell this and be given several meters of slightly-bent stock for free. You probably want the 1mm thick stuff, not the 0.5-0.6mm thick stuff.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
