Hi guys, I think this may my first post? I'm not sure  :icon_redface: any way I built a smokey amp for my friend to put into an electric guitar that he's making for his Daughter but he wants to add a treble booster, so I thought I'd add a screaming bird circuit in front of it by removing the 100k pot and connecting it directly to the smokeys input.

I chose the creaming bird because it's really basic and compact. I was just wondering if anyone else has done a similar project and do you thing it'll work ok.

you should be able to use a treble booster with the Smokey, but you should definitely experiment on a breadboard first. I like my Rangemaster after fuzzes many times.

Btw, "Creaming Bird" is a much better name!

Creaming bird LLLLLol, that's what happens when your wireless keyboard is too far from the  receiver.
I've actually just finished making the pcbs for both so I'll wire them together minus the pot and see what happens. If it works I'll integrate them into one board.

Thanks for the reply LucifersTrip.

Hi guys, Ok so I'm building this Screaming Bird thingy and it's got a couple of odd value resisters in it, I have a 12 Series 86 value resistor pack that I thought would cover most requirements but Na. So can I substitute the 430k with a 470k and the 4.3k with a 4.7k with out affecting it's functionality too much or do they need to be spot on? I actually achieved the 430k by using two resistors but I'd like to try to avoid that if I can.

You might want to try to breadboard it first. If it doesn't sound good, then you can easily change them to the required values. But it probably will work with these values.

Yeah that should work fine, the ratio is the same, the slightly bigger resistors will make the current a bit lower but that shouldn't matter. Check the values on your schematic though, the ones I've seen show 430k and 43k not 4.3k.
