3stages Fet high gain distortion?

does anyone know a simple high gain pedal using 3jfet stages +darlington, etc to drive it further?  Im thinking of something like a darlington electra distortion driving a fetzer valve. Would it work? Suggestions please.

I'm sure I've seen a JFET emulation of the JCM800 out in the wild.

Check Runoff Groove -- they have several things with cascaded JFETs.

thanks. I like the thor but Idont have enough jFETs for that.. Are all those amp emulators high gain and can sound good for heavy metal music?

Try the X2FET. This has 3 gains of JFET, and is heavy metal sounding. I have the PDF of this project, if interested.

what about the BSIAB2? 2x MU-amp stages and then a single fet boost. you don't need more gain that that it will just be adding noise. cool circuit too.

the BSIAB2 needs 2n5457's. I only have 3pcs j201's.  And 2 2n5088's.Searching for a low part count one. The krank distortus maximus is the highest part count pedal I've built.. Any more suggestions? Im kinda picky on what to build because I'm greatly lacking parts..and its very hard ordering online. Sorry.

so after you match the transistors wouldn't you have to match the required capacitors, resistors, potentiometers?

can't think of anything off the top of my head that will use exactly only a few FETs and an NPN. you can adapt the small signal devices to the circuits by adjust gains of course. i always rather adjust he circuit to the transistor than try to find precise transistors to match the circuit.

If you have a bread board, then just build the first three stages of the X2FET. I think you could make a buffer using the 2N5088?? The rest of the circuit are the diodes to ground (which you might not need for this to work), and the tone control. You can use J201 in place of 2N5457. The J201 will give you more gain.

Well you really can't afford to be picky with limited parts... Anyway, where do you live? If you live in the US I can send you 3 or 4 more J201's free of charge.. Kinda hate to see you struggle and make something you might not like while I have a big old pile of J201's... PM me if you want
