hi! Im about to build this project from GGG about a power amplifier using tda2030/2040 but I only have a 20 volt power supply which is actually a laptop power supply. the tda2030 has an operatting voltage of 18volts but I dont know if its the maximum or the minimum. the tda2040 needs 20 volts but I doubt that the power supply might not be regulated and might make the 2040 explode...can anybody clear this out for me? thanks

Read data-sheets.

Both chips are intended for +/- power supplies. For the '40, +/-20V or _40V_ max.

Using your single-output laptop supply, you must use a different connection or blow the speaker with DC; you also get less than 1/4 the expected power output.
