Jake Nagy's Blue Magic MOSFET resistor choices

On the schematic for this circuit (http://diystompboxes.com/pedals/schems/blue_magic.pdf), R1 is 4.7M and R2 is 2.2M.   Why this combination?  What are the benefits of this combination over the "matched" combinations found in something like the ROG Peppermill (where R1 and R2 would both be 1M)?

its a voltage divider, that combination gives 2.87v at the centre of those 2 resistors usiing the prog above..

if it were a matched pair of resistors it would be 4.5v..

that how i understand it to be anyway.. :)..unless i totally missed the point....which happens more often than not. ;D
