Does anyone know of a low to medium gain Jfet distortion pedal that is not a amp emulator? I am looking for a schematic of one that lets through as much of the tone as possible.

Thanks

try the spitfire v3, instead of using j201's, maybe stick 2n5457's in there for less gain...

vid...no amp, just into mixer. (2 modes classic/modern) which doesn't really show up in this, but it has been sorted now,  (using ibanez rg470.) though it has a fendery tone to it...

Thanks for the ideas.

I actually built the BSIAB and now I need to look if I used J201's and if so replace with 2n5457 or MPF102.

I built the Blue Magic, which is very similar to the Peppermill. I bread boarder the Peppermill once, but thought the Blue Magic sounded better, to me.

I actually want to try Jfet (with no Mu amp design) gain stages, but not sure how you put in the filters? Is there a common filter to put in between gain stages? I want to let through as much of the tone as possible. I read this great article about op amp design:

http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/richardo/distortion/index.html

But does not mention what frequencies to cut off. I think they are all different levels depending on the gain per stage??

Thanks
Rob
