My attempts to mod a bazz fuss are a success! However, the LED and 1n914 switch mod makes me wonder.

In the bazz fuss, just before the 1n914, there is a 10k resistor.
If one would want to switch via DPDT the 1n914 with an orange LED, would the 10k resistor be enough for the LED not to fry?

Assuming you're using a 9V supply, you should be safe with 10k. As a matter of fact, it might be very dim or not light at all. As a general rule, most LEDs will be safe with current limiting resistors around 820R or higher. Going as low as 820R might make the LED blindingly bright and might shorten its life, though. 2.2k is generally a safe, happy medium.

Get a fresh 9v battery and a few different resistors between 1k and 10k and try them with your LED to see what you like.
