I found schematics here: http://hammer.ampage.org/files/Maestroworld.zip (Thanks Mark Hammer!), but I only found one old thread where someone mentioned they were building it. I've seen no reports on finished builds.

I'm wondering 1) if anyone's gotten this to work and 2) which version?

Better yet. has anybody ever HEARD one?  I know I've never done so.

I found this some time ago. Sounds pretty groovy actually. Sounds like mini skirts, white vinyl hip boots, and beatniks. Not to mention the guy selling the ad just kills. :icon_lol:

That is great!  I dig it, baby.  I really do.  Previously, I wold have thought "Meh, a fuzz and a phaser.  Heard it.", but this has a very distinctive sound.

#5
the fuzz looks like a Fuzz Rite.

It might be cool to just build the Phazzer part so you can use it after any fuzz in your arsenal

edit:
there's actually 3 versions (2 schematics) of that thing. I was referring to #1...wonder which the sound file is from

So, I brought this up because a guy found my Ludwig video on youtube and started emailing me questions about various vintage phasers. Long story short, he bought a partially non-working Fuzz Phazzer (FP-1) and sent it to me to fix. It arrived today and the problem was... a 9v Danelectro battery putting out less than 3v. ;D

Fired it up with a new Duracell and it works just fine! It didn't sound right, so I adjusted the trimmers, and now it's the unit it was meant to be. This thing is freakin' cool! It really does have a spot in the travel that brings in a nice subharmonic. Good stuff.

I know a bloke plays everything (a different band for each type of music) from rockabilly to eukele. he swears by his phazzer, says it's the only pedal he needs when he does his punk (70's 80's covers) band.

Bassist, Larry Graham (of Sly & the Family Stone), used one of these as part of his setup during the 70s. There is a thread about it on the talkbass forum.
I never knew about the suboctave thing going on there. This has got me interested in this pedal again. Three different versions. I wonder which is the best choice to build? Oh, and these things and the similar Carlin Phaser (like the Maestro, but without a fuzz) go for ridiculous prices on fleabay.
