Boss PS--2 question - maybe some fx vet would know

I am trying to figure out whether my ps-2 is an old version or a new version. The serial # is gone, so can't do it that way. Word is that the newer ones had three caps changed but can't find any info on what three caps and what they were changed to. I've got white noise like a pt2399 that gates on the delay sound, but am not sure if that is the noise they refer to or not. The noise is not on any of the other modes. Anyone have any experience with these or a schem. Thanks!!

I have just found this thread as I am trying to fix a friend's PS-2 pedal - many thanks for the link to the service notes 

His pedal is around 20 years old and has 'lost its magic'!

It definitely used to self-oscillate but woll not do so any more (after 10 years in the loft).

Any ideas? My only thought was to change all of the electrolytic caps but this is admittedly only a shotgun approach in the absence of any other ideas.
