1/4'' Cliff jacks and Solder Boards

Hey guys, so I have a question: is it possible to solder 1/4''  Cliff jacks to a standard pitch 167x55mm prototype board? And if so, in what orientation (parallel to the center line space or orthogonal to it)?  I'd like to build a solid effects pedal on a solder board without having to resort to really terrible quality wire-soldered jacks.
Thanks a lot.

If you're looking for quality, look into PCB design software and getting a one-off board manufactured (~$20).  This is a good place to start looking: http://oshpark.com/
With prototype boards, you pretty much have to adapt your design to them.  The difference between these two options are like night and day.
Check out my webpage http://www.diyaudiocircuits.com and send me suggestions about what you want to see!  I do all sorts of things with audio equipment, from guitar pedals to circuitbending to analog synthesizers.

Why wouldn't it be?

Really?

Etching ain't that hard, give it a try. Try DIYLC

Haha ok I'll give PCB design a shot... but first gotta ace my exams. (And pass that god forsaken E&M and Vector Calc (combined!) course).

Just had a look at some Cliff Jacks I've got and the pin/lug spacing isn't that far off standard 0.1" holes spacing. By drilling out a few holes I reckon they'd be easy to solder to perf or vero.

You'll waste a lot of busses on your proto board doing it that way. I've had jacks that are wired last me years, I wouldn't worry so much about that.

Check out the pictures thread, lots of gut shots, might give you some ideas.
