Oscillator overloading issues.

Hey guys I was wondering if my thinking was correct with solving the following problem?

I've built an oscillator noise maker that consists of four oscillators I posted it in the pics thread before, well now I am modifying it further.

I have tried to send the oscillator outputs to a series of spdt switches, one position is just always on, the other goes to a normally open momentary switch so that there is no sound until you press it. In doing this I am having overloading issues and the sound is intermittent.

I thought maybe on one side of the switch somehow allow a little bit of the signal to ground and that could potentially solve this problem?

Here's a rough diagram to show what I'm thinking.

I'm thinking that I need to somehow let "some" signal to ground to make things easier on the 40106 chip when an oscillator isn't being used. I thought of doing this using a combination of resistors and diodes. What do you think? Is the the right approach or near it?

Well I'm going to be trying out what I have in mind, but I do wonder if that were to fail would I use say some sort of switching with components? Maybe with transitors or was it a FET?

Could someone give me an opinion?!
