This pedal has a really nifty feature marketed as 'motorized controls'....any ideas how this is done, and how it can be built into DIY pedals? Schematics,scratch notes etc etc...?

Motorized pots are just the beginning. The tougher questions are wrapped up in how and with what the motorized pots are driven. This necessarily involves some modestly complex uC system or an even more complex analog drive system.
