So a friend of mine requested a pedal to at some roar to his bass sound...some people like a stock Rat for this...I'm one of those people. Just wondered if anyone found the Ruetz Mod (or even adding the fifth pot) to be worthwhile when using their Rat on bass.

I find the Ruetz mod to turn the Rat into more of an overdrive than a distortion with softer clipping. It's also a little woofier and would probably work really well with bass. I haven't tried it with a pot, just a switch on the resistor.

Nice thanks of the feedback! I've made two rats so far (one for me and one for my bass player and now another bass player is asking)...so I figured I'd ask before tearing my own completed one apart or starting from scratch. You guys always have the answers faster then it takes to heat up  my soldering iron!

Excellent timing, my bass player "borrowed" my rat and is holding it hostage until he gets his own.

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

I did the Ruetz mods on a friend's Rat 2 for bass. He's really happy with it.
