Is there anything that can go in a 1 1/2 by 3 inch enclosure?

I've been trying to figure out what kind of circuit I can possibly use it for. it has a recessed pad-per-hole perfboard, which leaves just enoug clearance for standard audio jacks to sit in there and block off any space for putting components on the board.

With components, nothing else would fit. Who has been able to fit anything in such a small box before? What kind of circuit could fit?

A point to point fuzz or booster or treble booster or ....Just about anything low parts count.

If you wire it point to point you can fit a bigger circuit in a smaller enclosure. Circuit boards don't bend around jacks and other hardware.
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Yep. That would be part of the problem.

I'd turn it into a utilitarian circuit box.  Need something to isolate DC?  Stick two jacks in it and a cap in between.  Need a quick bypass looper?  Put two jacks and a switch in it.  Need a basic clean amplifier, a couple jacks and a point to point wired circuit will fit.  And I bet if you got super creative with the layout, jacks along one long side, board vertical against the open long wall, you could get quite alot in there - modular LFO, voltage converter, simple signal generator, cap tester, frequency tester, FET matcher....

I put a Tillman preamp in one that size. No need for a stomp switch or pots.

I also vote for a small power-regulation box.  Somethng that will let you use "no-name" wallwarts with unknown degrees of regulation.

That was my first thought. I built one the other day on a piece of perf about 1"x1/4". You could add a 4.7uF or so cap in parallel with the source resistor to get a bit of a healthy boost too.
