channel switching help needed

Hi, I wanna make a preamp so I can switch between 2 circuits. One for clean channel and one for crunch channel. The output would go throug a buffer and on to the power amp. Is it possible to use a DPDT to do the switching between 2 preamp circuits? And how do I wire it? Help please.

A simple LED for each side (and appropriate resistor) and a buffer afterwards
