Hi guys :)
What does the 10k trim actually control?

Thanks !

In the absence of any other replies, I'll have a stab but be warned that I'm a dolt  ;)

I think it might control the gain of the FET. Remember the Sonic Titan is trying to mimic the behaviour of an amp with the FET as a pre- and 386 as power amp.

It is impossible to know without a schematic!

if the 10k trim is R3, it sets the bias on the jfet source. you want about 4V5~5V, for max headroom etc.

4.5~5v on the source, or the drain?

if those engineers way back hadn't named the draining part the source and the sourcing part the drain, I'd not have to think everytime I needed to think about fets.

having said that, and with the drain being conected to the trimpot, I'd say "it sets the bias on the jfet drain".

but don't quote me.
