If anybody's made replicas of either pedal or something very similar, I'd love to hear about your experience and the resources you used (schematics, layouts, parts, plans, etc).

Everybody and their brother has probably made the 808 in some form or another.

You can see many 808 clones on youtube

Here are some links with kits/pcbs/schematics etc

I am actually going to be building the keeley 4 knob COMP either this week or next.

Also from what I understand the Keeley 4 Knob is the same as the Keeley 2 Knob COMP with the internal trim pots wired to two external potentiometers. Which is a Modified version of the Ross and/or Dynacomp.

Using the layouts here

i just made the ts9 and the keeley 4 nob.  having some probs with the latter still.. funny how my build always take a week of debugging... i hate that.

I made the keeley 4 knob from the tagboard layout below. Was a great comp it's definitely an effect vs being "transparent" but its not a bad thing. It sounded wonderful. Until some douche-nozzle plugged an 9v AC adapter into it and fried my 3080 and 4 tantalum caps. SO PLEEEASE PUT A 1N400X Protection diode on the 9V connection.

I have since gutted it since the cost of the 3080's is just so bleh... I tried using the adapter board with a LM13700 and it didnt seem to want to work so some trannies were probably fried too.

I have since built the demeter compulator which IMO is much nicer, very studio grade sounding and works amazingly on my Rickenbacker 4003 bass, slightly lower then unity and max volume and compression but there is very little difference when the knob is 3/4 up and you can get a little boost out of it. highly recommended
