A clumsy demo of some mods I've been touting

I'm in the midst of trading a guy on the other side of the country some pedals for a Micro-POG.  So, I posted a demo video for him to window-shop.

I'm not sure what the heck happened during the process of converting it from an 11Gig AVI to an 88Meg WMV, but the video and audio portions are not synced very much anymore.  It starts out with picture and sound synced up so you can see what I'm tweaking as the sound changes.  But then it gets all weird, freezing for periods as the audio moves ahead, then playing quickie catch-up or alternately racing ahead.

In any event, illustrated, more for your auditory than multimedia pleasure, are a ZVex Octane clone (courtesy of Madbean), a somewhat (though not fully) pimped-out FY-2, and a D-Scrambler (Dist+ front end and Scrambler in one package).

The playing is nothing to be proud of, but I do still have a nice finger vibrato, even if things sorta fall apart after I leave that fret (too much time pulling weeds these days; the hands hurt).  Apart from the potential added value of higher volume, pretty much illustrates most of what these things can do.

Oh, and in response to comments from earlier posted videos, I canned the overhead fluorescent lights, in favour of an LED illumination source.  MUCH less hum obscuring the guitar sound.

Enjoy!

I was priviledged to witness the D-Scrambler in the flesh. That baby is just sumthin else peopole! Something that Mr. Jimi Photon could really sink his chops into. The Dist+ has a way of pushing the Scrambler into absolutely wild and wonderful sonic scapes. If you like over the top octave bloom, this is a must build.

Is the schematic posted somewhere Mark? I wouldn`t mind putting that one into my files.

It IS a heap of fun.  :icon_biggrin:  I'll try and whip up a schem of the front end, since that's all that's different.  The Scrambler part is absolute stock (though I find the single NPN shouldn't be much higher hfe than 150 or so).

I remember you mentioning the Scrambler Dist+ combo a while ago when we were talking about Scramblers in Wah shells. Good sounding builds. I like the middle one.

Mark, I really enjoyed the "My Buddy"pedal. Do you have a schematic with your mods?
