Hi,

I'm new to this forum and just started building pedal. I ordered a microamp on generalguitargadget and I assembled it. My truebypass works but when I put it on, led blinks one time then turn off and no more sound from my pedal. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
JP

Can you show us some pictures of your build? maybe just simple wrong connections.

JPGraphX

While taking pictures I saw that my led wire where connecting together. I separated them with tape.

Now, is my switch ok? I'm going to test it.

Thanks
JP

Double check your IC orientation because it looks like inverted but not sure the picture is not very sharp lookin. And shorten your wires for clearer view and it will also beneficial regarding noise issues.

JPGraphX

How the IC is suppose to be?

JPGraphX

Dot on my IC is top left, you are right wrong side

While reading on IC orientation I read that I wasn't suppose to solder IC with socket, hope I didn't burn it.

I have a question for my IC, I have some bridge between IC pins, is that a problem?

JPGraphX

Well, I removed all solder bridge and my pedal is now working! I have a popping sound coming from led. What do you recommend?

Here are two helpful general rules. Circuits work by doing the following:

1) All things that are supposed to be connected are connected.
2) No things that are not supposed to be connected are connected.

These seem obvious, but once you take this to heart, troubleshooting becomes much easier and more thorough.

If a solder bridge violates #2, it's a problem.

Glad you fixed your problem. However, in the future, please read the tech help thread for a template for the information needed to help troubleshoot a build. The thread gives all the information needed for others to help diagnose a problem without having the circuit in hand. It's also possible that in running through the steps required to gather the information that you will run across the problem and solution on your own.

Ok! Thanks for your help! Like I said I'm new to diy pedal and this forum!

I've read a lot of thing on popping sound, my pedal is alone, no other pedal (for now), still not n my pedalboard. What do you recommend? Add a resistor on the led, resistor on ground, etc?
