Hi-

Looking for someone to build a clone of a Wampler Ecstasy (Euphoria). Here's the catch, can it be built in a "micro" box? A 1"x3" box? About the size of small booster or buffer pedals? Send me an email if this is possible. jarrettbailey@gmail.com

Thanks

Jarrett

It's really worth buying the real thing. A great pedal.

Im positive someone COULD build it...

The question is: "Who would want to do that to Wampler?"

I know I wouldn't  :-\

I second Jeremy's reccomendation...  ;)

The Tagboard FX veroboard layout is small enough to fit physically, but four knobs and a switch in a 1590A? Total pain in the butt.

Otherwise, +3 on not screwing Wampler. I realize that you're looking for a form factor that can't be bought, but I would think most people willing to take on the challenge of fitting that into a 1590A aren't the sort to sell a copy of an in-production pedal, especially one designed and sold by one of the Good Guys.

You might try DIFMstompboxes (translates to: do it for me stompboxes)

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Come on, it's the guy's first post. He doesn't know the culture.

I`ll have to echo G_L on that one.

Build someone a clone of hen`s tooth. Yeah, no problem.

Build someone a clone of a boutique pedal that`s no longer in production (with zero chance of it ever being produced again), or the company is defunct. Probably.

Build someone a clone of a pedal that`s in production? Nope, not in this, or any other life time. If I did, it would be for myself, and the kid`s would end up with it when I die. By then, it really won`t be my problem anymore. :D

Seriously, buy the pedal.

And while I`m here; can anyone build me a Mutron Bi-Phase? It`s got to be in a 1590A though. I`ve very little room left on my pedalboard. ;D

that's too funny, Dino!
that's exactly how I feel about my builds. i don't even really do it for myself (because i really am a substandard player and cant do them justice), i just keep picturing my kids or their friends twenty years down the line (fingers crossed) rummaging through my stuff and finding a dusty box filled with my builds. hopefully some fun will be had with those. also, hopefully there'll be some lovetones in there, if not moogerfoogers :)

I built it using the tagboard layout and I do not like it at all

Brain Wampler "indyguitarist" is a regular member of "the other forum" and he seems to have no problem with people reverse engineering his pedals... hell, he even helps out with unknown values and such. He is very open and has even said he doesn't mind at all except he does NOT like people using his branding/trademarks!!!

Not at all trying to discourage you guys doing DIY, I have no problem with that at all! But I do need to say this one thing.
Please do not use Triple Wreck, or Wampler on your pedal. I'm cool with building a pedal for yourself and all that, but we have had problems with people using our trademarks before and trying to sell them or pass them off as a genuine Wampler product. When this happens, it creates a flood of problems. Call it 3 wreck. Call it wreck x 3. That's fine by me, but please do not use our trademark or trade dress.

He helps out greatly with the DIY community! He goes so far as to point out mistakes, explain why or why not he does something a certain way, gives correct voltages for his pedals and has even updated schematics... It's funny because most of the pedals of his that have been traced he himself actually had a lot to do with it! He doesn't actually come right out and give you the whole picture, he actually makes you work for it and kinda guides people through the correct way of whatever it is they are doing! Great guy!! And, I think it works in his favor for a number of reasons although, I am sure there are many headaches involved as well! I am not speaking for him (Brian) in any way I am simply relaying what I have seen...

So, maybe ease up a bit, maybe?

I don't want to get into a pissin match but a very large percentage of this site is made up of shared knowledge whether you want to admit it or not. Not much "new stuff" coming outa here except for a select few members that dare to try crazy things on their own (not many)... Most of the rest are just copies of copies of copies with a few mods here and there and different layouts etc... If you build stuff from tonepad or whatever you are just building a clone (or close to it) of a famous or once famous/popular pedal...

The debate never ends...
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!
