Kill switch w/LED

This should be really simple, but I have to ask if this will work.

It's a kill switch, and is supposed to kill the signal and activate the LED when engaged. The resistor will be 1-2K. I guess it won't take a battery and a power supply at the same time, as I only have unswitched DC-Jacks.

I think the best way to kill your signal is to ground it - not disconnect it.

OK. So I'll just connect the lower left lug on the switch to ground, and I'm good?

Yes - plus connect the signal input directly to output, not via the switch.  You just want to ground the signal only, not toggle it between ground and output.
