I would also wonder what he was putting IN. If he has some effects in front of it, one of them could well be leaking.The opamp at the input will happily try to pass along a pop, and if it's DC coupled at the input, the opamp output will be sitting offset by some DC. It could well be popping because of a DC offset at the input.

Couple of questions based on this circuit - http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/TransformerSplitter.pdf please excuse my ignorance and lack of understanding of certain things,

1) is it possible to run this circuit on a single 9V DC input?

2) does it require any sort of phase invert on either of the outputs?
